Shift work, frequent time zone changes and long periods of separation from loved ones are some of the challenges faced by seafarers and crew members onboard. Being apart from family members and hometown during festive seasons could even be more challenging.
They experience loneliness and isolation at Christmas. Christmas gifts are handed out to seafarers and mariners every year by the German Lutheran Seamen’s Mission to bring a sense of warmth to them. VEINLAND has recently made a small contribution to the German Lutheran Seamen’s Mission Foundation by donating 500,00 Euros for this action this year.
